Este verano, se impartirán cursos de guitarra, bajo, y batería aquí en nuestra parroquia de Sta. María.
Para inscribirse, por favor vaya a la oficina parroquial de Sta. María o de San Juan Diego y pide una forma de inscripción,
llénela, entréguela, y haga su pago de acuerdo por el/los curso(s) en que se inscribió.

Sobre el Maestro
Jorge (George) Rayes es el Coordinador de Música de la Iglesia de San Juan Diego, y tiene 15 años de experiencia tocando
diferentes instrumentos, entre ellos guitarra, bajo, y batería. Empezo a tocar música a los 12 años, uniendose al grupo de coro
donde su papá era el director y su mamá era vocalista, y desde entonces ha tocado, cantado, y dirigido misas en español, inglés, y tagalo.
Su misión es alabar a nuestro Dios por medio de la música litúrgica, y también apoyar y ayudar a formar a otras personas quienes tienen el mismo deseo.

Cursos
Cada curso consiste de cinco clases, y al final un concierto, para que los estudiantes puedan aplicar lo que apredieron haciendo una presentación.
¡Estén listos para aprendar, practicar, y divertirse mientras que lo hacen!
Guitarra
Costo: $95
Los estudiantes aprenderán lo fundamental para tocar la guitarra. Los temas se tratarán de acordes, rasgueos, ritmos, leer hojas de acordes y letra, vocabulario, y técnica básica.
Batería y Percusión - CUPO LLENO
Costo: $95
Los estudiantes aprenderán lo fundamental para tocar batería. Los temas se tratarán de ritmos (contar y leer), técnica para tocar la batería,
tocar diferentes instrumentos de percusión (sonaja, claves, congas), y vocabulario.
NOTA: Si se quiere inscribir para el curso de guitarra o bajo, es necesario traer su propio instrumento, ¡ya que no se van a proveer guitarras, bajos,
o amplificadores para estos cursos!

This summer, music classes about guitar, bass, and drums will be held at St. Mary's parish.
To sign up for a course, please go the Parish Office at either St. Mary's or St. Juan Diego and ask for a sign-up form, fill it out, and turn it in.

About the Teacher
George Rayes is the Music Coordinator at St. Juan Diego Catholic Church, and he has 15 years of experience playing a variety of instruments,
including guitar, bass, and drums. He started playing music when he was 12 years old, joining the choir group where his dad was the music
director and his mom was a singer; since then, he has played, sung, and directed masses in Spanish, English, and Tagalog. His mission is to
praise our God through liturgical music at mass, and to support and help train others who have the same desire.

Courses
All courses consists of five classes, and each one will end with a concert where every student will get the opportunity to demonstrate what they've learned by performing.
Be ready to learn, practice, and have fun while you're at it!
Guitar
Cost: $95
Students will learn the fundamentals of playing guitar. Subjects and topics include chords, strumming, rhythms, reading chord sheets, vocabulary, and basic technique.
Drums & Percussion - CLASS FULL
Cost: $95
Students will learn the fundamentals of playing drums. Subjects and topics include rhythms (counting and reading), drum technique, playing different percussion instruments
(shaker, claves, congas), and vocabulary.
NOTE: Students who wish to take the guitar or bass course must already have their own instrument; guitars, basses, and amplifiers will not be provided for these courses!
